We are thrilled to launch our First EVER GWW Club in Minneapolis, MN - and
YOU are invited to join!
GIRLS WITH WINGS: AVIATION INSPIRATION
Girls With Wings is pleased to announce the successful completion of its
first training session held at Andover Elementary School, near Minneapolis,
MN, on May 26th, 2009. We invited women who are active aviation
enthusiasts to learn how to present an interactive and inspirational event
for girls 1st up to the 12th grades while sharing stories of their training and
careers.
Each trained participant is now a member of the GWW Club, and can now
seek out further opportunities in the community to teach girls “everything”
they need to know about flying a plane with hands on instruction. Women
interested in joining the club and speaking at future events should contact
the Club’s leader, Lindsey Meyer, at Lindsey@GirlsWithWings.com.
Girls With Wings™ is an internet based public awareness project that
focuses its efforts on introducing young girls to their role models in aviation-
related occupations. Website activities and inspirational stories of women
involved in various aspects of aviation will motivate girls to pursue their own
skyward adventures. The founder, Lynda Meeks, is a 16 year career pilot
flying the Citation X for NetJets, Inc. Lindsey (shown above) is a recent
graduate of University of North Dakota and currently a pilot flying regional
jets for Mesaba Airlines.
Donations of presentation materials are also appreciated and needed.
The next training session will take place in New York at the Old Rhinebeck
Aerodrome on August 22-23rd.
